Studying The Culture Of The Dervishes Of Turkestan (Second half of the XIX century)

The article presents the works and conclusions of researchers who studied the
spiritual values that have been adhered to by local residents on Kazakh soil, the Turkestan region
for centuries. Scientific research conducted during the period of annexation to Russia reveals
religious beliefs, spiritual values, education, political and economic features of the way of life and
well-established traditions among the people. In this regard, P. Pozdnev, V. Lykoshin,
Vereshchagin, A. Divaev, who came to the Turkestan region for a special scientific purpose,
studied the political, social, economic, spiritual positions, traditions and beliefs of the country of
that period and published them in a scientific publication.
P. Pozdnev’s study of the life and spiritual attitudes of Islamic dervishes is based on the
internal study of religion and its spiritual basis by an adherent of the Christian faith for using it for
political purposes. N. Lykoshin, who worked for many years in Central Asia and the Turkestan
region, studied the spiritual life, economic development and statistics of the peoples of Turkestan.
In turn, V. Vereshchagin and A. Divaev wrote and published their scientific research about the
culture of dervishes, the good deeds of ishans for the people, the way of life of the local population,
also about vakifs, kalans and maddahs. These studies were based on the objective of the new land
acquisition policy. This article describes research into the culture of the country and the culture of
the Dervishes.
