Abstract

A humane teacher, while educating children, also conveys to them the traits of his or her character and serves as an example of true humanity. Humanitarian disciplines contribute to the development of the virtuous personality of future teachers. The system of teaching methods has a significant impact on the formation of a virtuous personality, creating broad conditions for the assimilation of humanitarian knowledge, the acquisition of practical skills, as well as the disclosure and development of interests, abilities and needs of students of pedagogical universities.
The purpose of the study: to develop a system of teaching methods for the development of the virtuous personality of future teachers (based on humanitarian disciplines), and to provide recommendations. Research objectives: A) to create and test a hypothetical model for the development of the virtuous personality of students of pedagogical universities on the basis of teaching methods; B) to determine the criteria, indicators and levels of formation of the virtuous personality of future teachers; C) to develop a methodology for choosing teaching methods for the development of the virtuous personality of students, taking into account these criteria.
A hypothetical model for the development of the virtuous personality of the future teacher was developed; a methodology for the development of the virtuous personality of the future teacher was developed; experimental work was carried out, the conclusions obtained in the course of experimental work were analyzed, verified, and refined; the results obtained were summarized and systematized.
Taking into account the variety of functions and manifestations of teaching methods in the development of humanitarian disciplines, we have built a system of methods based on the concept of Z.I. Vasilyeva. Its structure includes the method of goal setting, information-educational, orientational-practical, communicative, and evaluative methods.
In the course of the study, by analyzing theoretical and experimental work, we made recommendations on the development of the virtuous personality of the future teacher on the basis of humanitarian disciplines.
