Abstract

After gaining independence, we are trying to learn more and more about the national history. During the Soviet period, many historical events were distorted for ideological reasons. At the moment, Russian historians are trying to restore the picture of the past centuries and even millennia of the history of our ancestors.

The territory of Kazakhstan has long been the place of emergence, rise and prosperity of many major powers of its time. The history of nomads and political structures created by them, such as the Scythian-Saks, Sarmatians, Huns, Turkic kaganates, Turgesh, Oguz, karluq States, Mongolian uluses, the Golden Horde and the Kazakh Khanate, became the progenitor of the formation of modern statehood on the land of Kazakhstan. For several millennia, in many corners of the globe, people have created different civilizations that are characteristic of their natural conditions and geographical environment. Civilizations such as Egyptian, Sumerian, Minoan, Indian, Greek and others developed from the early Bronze Age to the early Iron Age. However, among these civilizations, the history of the Scythian-Saks, who inhabited a huge territory of the Great Steppe, remains unnoticed. The purpose of the article is to consider the anthropology, genetics, language and culture, traditions and worldview of the ancient Scythian-Saks and identify them with the Kazakhs.
