This scientific article provides an in-depth analysis of the moral and psychological consequences experienced by the descendants of ethnic groups forcibly resettled to Kazakhstan as a result of political repressions and deportations during the 1930s–1950s. The resettlement policy, rooted in violence by Soviet authorities, deprived hundreds of thousands of people of their ancestral lands, dealing a severe blow to their social and cultural development. The article thoroughly examines the psychological issues commonly observed among the descendants of deportation victims, including historical trauma, disconnection from ethnic roots, identity searching, feelings of loneliness, and grief reflected in collective memory. Additionally, the importance of psychological support, preserving historical memory, and strengthening intergenerational continuity is emphasized as a means to mitigate the negative impacts of political repressions and deportations. The study's findings indicate that today, the descendants of deportation victims continue to feel the burdens of the past, with a strong desire for the restoration of historical justice, revitalization of memories, and preservation of cultural heritage. In this context, the article explores the historical significance of political repressions and deportations, as well as their role in contemporary Kazakhstani society. Special attention is given to initiatives aimed at restoring historical justice and strengthening social and cultural harmony among nations.
