Abstract

The article comprehensively examines the issue of developing a teacher’s research competence through the creation of a historical and psychological portrait of Khan Kenesary. The author considers the psychological image of a historical figure as a pedagogical research method, defining the theoretical and practical aspects of improving the teacher’s research activity. During the study, Kenesary Khan’s personal qualities, leadership abilities, struggle for national independence, and the socio-psychological characteristics of that era are analyzed. The pedagogical potential of the method of creating a historical and psychological image is revealed. It is shown that this approach contributes to the development of the teacher’s analytical, reflective, and creative abilities, as well as to the formation of scientific thinking and research culture. Such a method enhances the teacher’s skills in analyzing, comparing, and generalizing data, while strengthening creative inquiry. In addition, historical and psychological analysis allows the teacher to identify students’ individual traits and abilities, understand the emotional state of a personality within historical events, deepen the content of lessons, and systematically organize research-oriented activities. Conducting historical and psychological analysis of a personality is considered an effective tool for developing the teacher’s research competence. As a result, effective mechanisms for improving the professional competence of history teachers are identified, and an innovative direction for developing research skills through the study of historical figures is proposed.
