NAZIR TOREKULOV'S CONTRIBUTION TO TURKOLOGY

Abstract

This article examines the political, cultural and linguistic activities of Nazir Torekulov in the 20-30s of the twentieth century. His work in the Central Executive Committee in Moscow, starting with state and party activities in the Republic of Turkestan, the role in the development of national language policy and the introduction of the Latin alphabet. During the writing of the article, articles by Nazir Torekulov, published in the publications Temirkazyk, Enbekshi Kazakh, Aк zhol, the work Zhat sozder turaly, as well as materials from the archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences and reports at congresses and plenums, were used.

Nazir Torekulov through the organizational activities of Moscow publishing houses, the Publishing House of Literature in Eastern Languages, the Temirkazyk magazine created by him demonstrates a great contribution to the development of the culture and spirituality of the Turkic peoples. In addition, Nazir Torekulov on a scientific basis considered the issues of preserving and developing the national language, educating the population, education, cultural revival and linguistic worldview, writing, analyzed the ideas of promoting spiritual freedom in Kazakh society. The article assessed his cultural and political activities, influence on the civilizational development of the nation, role in the transition to the Latin alphabet, preservation of the integrity of the language and culture of the Turkic peoples. Nazir Torekulov was presented not only as a politician, but also as a writer-publicist, cultural innovator, theorist of a national idea and language reformer. His work and works are an important historical step of spiritual revival through the preservation of the cultural integrity of the Turkic peoples, the strengthening of national independence, education and science.
