Editorial policy of the journal

The Editorial Board of the journal Turkic Historical Studies (hereinafter referred to as “the Journal”) operates on the principles of professionalism, objectivity, scientific rigor, and impartiality. The Editorial Board assumes responsibility for upholding ethical standards in the preparation of scholarly publications and the dissemination of research results.

The primary aim of the Journal is to publish the results of current research in the field of historical sciences, to promote research on pressing issues in history, and to facilitate the exchange of new theoretical, methodological, factual, and conceptual scholarly information.

The objectives of the Journal include ensuring accessibility and openness in historical scholarship and fostering the development of historical thought.

The thematic focus of the Journal is the publication of research results concerning the history of Turkic states and Turkic peoples, as well as articles presenting the concepts of leading scholars who have contributed to the development of this field.

The interaction between the Editorial Board and authors is based on the principles of openness, honesty, respect, fairness, and objectivity.

Manuscripts undergo a preparation process prior to publication. Copyright is retained in accordance with the legislation and regulatory requirements of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

All scholarly articles accepted for publication are subject to mandatory double-blind peer review conducted by expert scholars in the relevant field. The manuscripts are also considered at a meeting of the Editorial Board organized by the Scientific Editor.

Communication between the Editorial Board, authors, and reviewers is conducted through the online OJS platform and, when necessary, via email.

The Journal complies with the requirements established for academic publications recommended for publishing research results by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (https://adilet.zan.kz). It also adheres to relevant international standards and follows the provisions of the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications developed by Elsevier (https://www.elsevier.com/about/policies/publishing-ethics).
