In this context, comprehensive scientific exploration of the topic becomes increasingly relevant. In contemporary research, the issue of new terms in languages always takes center stage, which is an undeniable fact. This article introduces, for the first time in the scientific community, the term “unisex names”.
In the Kazakh language, there is no specific category dedicated solely to gender, and therefore, this topic is not addressed by language norms. Nevertheless, there are elements that consistently manifest in the form of personal names. In Kazakh society, when choosing a name for a child, their gender is taken into account, but there are names that can be given to both boys and girls. This article explores the reasons for studying unisex names in the Kazakh language, their impact on a child's psychology, and their role in the social adaptation of an individual in society. Research on unisex names in the Kazakh language has been systematized, and a comparison with similar forms in other cultures has been conducted. The history of the people, their views and worldview features are unique treasures recorded in folklore and passed down from generation to generation. From the objects of folklore, you can find out how the people developed, what they thought about, how they lived, what their values were. Folklore is the keeper of the memory and cultural code of the people. The forms of faith, social structure and power are changing, and folklore has the property of preserving information in its own context. This property is manifested in folklore in images. Myths form a system that reflects the special way of thinking of the people, their unique perception of the world. If myths are the spiritual core of culture, then mythical images are an integral part of this people. Although myths are falling out of use, mythical characters, transforming, remain forever in the minds of people. Such mythical characters include the gods Umai-An and Zher-Su (Earth and Water) of the Turkic peoples. Images of these gods can be found in fairy tales and legends of the Turkic peoples. In fairy tales derived from myths, they are depicted with their names, in other genres - in the images of “Albasta”, “Zheztyrnak”. Nurbayeva nurbaeva.aida@bk.ru I.B. Baysydyk i.baissydyk@gmail.com Sh. Ganieva shahloganieva95@gmail.com
In the context of the dynamic growth of creative industries and the expanding consumer market in Kazakhstan, brand naming emerges as a pivotal instrument for linguistic-cultural identification, pragmatic positioning, and symbolic representation. The article addresses the problem of linguistic mechanisms in the formation of brand names within contemporary Kazakhstani brand culture, and examines how the nominative function is implemented through naming strategies. Within the onomasiological paradigm, the nominative function is conceptualized as a fundamental mechanism of secondary linguistic nomination, aimed at establishing a stable link between the signifier and the denotatum, enriched by cognitive, axiological, and cultural components. This function ensures brand recognition, verbalizes conceptual content, symbolically encodes the product, and provides interpretive cues within the collective consciousness.
An analysis of Kazakhstani brands across various sectors – including apparel, food, cosmetics, finance, and technology – reveals diverse strategies for implementing the nominative function. These range from phono-semantic transparency and ethnocultural markedness to phono-semantic expressiveness and visual-graphic distinctiveness. Specific examples illustrate how brand names activate meteorological metaphors to connote freshness and naturalness; employ traditional names associated with femininity and beauty in Kazakh culture; combine toponyms with universal English lexemes to realize a glocal synthesis model; integrate adjectives and terms denoting well-being to represent transparency and reliability in the financial sector; utilize lexemes with high emotional resonance to merge emotional-pragmatic and metaphorical strategies; draw upon words linked to Eastern aesthetics, softness, and visual symmetry to create an effect of gentleness and sensuality; and base themselves on concepts of spiritual reward in Islam to convey ethical orientations and establish a stable value association.
Consequently, the nominative function within Kazakhstani brand naming is actualized through a variety of linguistic mechanisms: lexical-semantic, culturally marked, toponymic, religious-value-based, phono-semantic, motivational, and emotional-symbolic. A brand name thus functions not as a neutral label but as a multifaceted cognitive structure that conveys cultural, ethical, and pragmatic meanings through linguistic form.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.ayu.edu.kz/index.php/habarshy/article/view/5519 Artistic Feature of Modern Aitys Language (Based on the Aitys of Arman Berdalin) 2025-07-03T11:39:33+00:00 G.S. Based on the results of a survey conducted among 18 respondents with a high level of English proficiency, the study investigates and analyzes the potential influence of prosodic characteristics using quantitative, acoustic, and ANOVA-based statistical analysis. The focus was on identifying the connection between prosodic features such as intonation, pitch, and accent, and their influence on the memorization of legal and neutral terms. Two fragments of popular court shows were selected - “Sudebnyi Dela” and “Divorce Court”. The results showed that legal terms were more often remembered from the Russian program, which was associated with a more formal style and accented prosodic elements, while emotionally charged statements from the American show led to the memorization of phrases unrelated to legal topics, but possessing vivid prosodic characteristics. Prosodic analysis revealed that changes in pitch, accentuation and emotional coloring increase the audience’s susceptibility to certain phrases. ABU abu.a_98@mail.ru R.Zh. SAURBAYEV rishat_1062@mail.ru
This article examines the dynamics of transferring conflict-generating language units—commonly referred to as conflictogemes – across English, Russian, and Kazakh media discourses. In light of the growing influence of global media and the intensification of ideological polarization, the study investigates how these expressions move between linguistic and cultural contexts and how their meanings and pragmatic functions shift in the process. Particular attention is given to lexical items and rhetorical patterns that serve to reinforce oppositional perspectives and contribute to the construction of polarizing narratives in public discourse.
The research is grounded in a multidisciplinary methodology that combines critical discourse analysis, componential and pragmalinguistic approaches, quantitative content analysis, and intercultural comparison. The empirical material comprises 90 media articles published in 2023–2024 across leading outlets: BBC and CNN (English), Kommersant and Izvestia (Russian), and Aikyn and Egemen Kazakhstan (Kazakh).
Findings reveal clear differences in how conflictogemes are deployed across these media environments. Russian-language discourse tends to rely on overtly aggressive and ideologically marked expressions; English-language materials favor institutional and legalistic framing; and Kazakh-language media adopt more implicit, culturally mediated strategies that reflect local norms of rhetorical restraint. The study introduces the term қақтығысоген (kaktygysogem) as a context-specific Kazakh analogue to the broader concept of conflictogeme, justified by its semantic precision and cultural relevance.
The article contributes to current scholarship by offering an in-depth comparative analysis of conflict expression across three media cultures. In addition, it provides a practical framework for examining the cultural adaptation of conflict rhetoric, with implications for media analysis, critical reading practices, and the development of ethical communication strategies in multilingual and multicultural settings.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.ayu.edu.kz/index.php/habarshy/article/view/5531 Linguocultural Features of Linguistic Units Related to Horse Breeding in a Medieval Written Monument (Based on the inscriptions of the “Baytartul-Wazih” and the “Codex Cumanicus”) 2025-07-04T06:31:54+00:00 К.А. Saparova saparovaaklima533@gmail.com
The concept of interlude, as a category that includes systems and cultural codes that have emerged as a result of the interaction of different cultures, has become the subject of literary study. Intermediality in Kazakh prose is one of the most important areas of research in modern literary criticism. The main importance of intermediality is the analysis and interpretation of the interaction of art forms (music, fine arts, cinema, theater, sculpture, etc.) with literary works. In Kazakh prose, literature has been linked to all forms of art since the very beginning of prose, since Kazakh literature is inherently open to various intercultural contacts. The article discusses issues related to the genesis of the concept of interlude and its appearance in Kazakh literature. Based on the material of the novel “Bas” by writer Rahimzhan Otarbayev, the use of the term interlude is theoretically analyzed. The analysis of a work in the style of fiction by the method of interlude is the novelty of the article. The article analyzes the expression and function of sculpture in the text of Rahimzhan Otarbayev. The importance of intermedial communication in the process of analyzing a work of art is emphasized. The novel “Bas” reveals the influence of art forms (sculpture, poetry, drama) on the disclosure of a certain image, semantic connotation, and the psychological state of the characters. The national code is analyzed, and cognition is among the concepts that make up the elements of traditional culture. The article discusses forms of introducing elements of national culture into the world of literary creativity of the writer.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.ayu.edu.kz/index.php/habarshy/article/view/5533 Artistic Techniques for Depicting the Psychological Portrait of the Protagonist in I. Altynbek akerke.altynbek@list.ru
This article presents the first analysis of the artistic means used to construct the psychological portrait of the protagonist in the short story Lead Out Chander by Kazakhstani writer Ilya Odegov (from his short story cycle Aliens). The study examines this portrayal through the lens of chronotype and the destructive transformation of the personality. The plot follows the wanderings of a traveller named Artem in an Indian town and his internal emotional turmoil.
The relevance of the research lies in the need to explore contemporary Kazakhstani literature, particularly Ilya Odegov’s short fiction, using the latest analytical methods. The article systematises scholars’ perspectives on the portrait as a means of character creation, outlining its types and distinctive features. The analysis of empirical material has revealed that the primary techniques used to model the protagonist’s psychological portrait in Odegov’s work include spatial-temporal imagery, psychological details, emotional representation, and the fixation of the character’s physical states, which unfold dynamically. A notable condensation of temporal images is observed. Odegov focuses primarily on describing the “present” moment – one that proves fatal for Artem – while his past and future are only sketchily outlined. The protagonist’s emotional state is vividly and expressively portrayed, encompassing feelings of fear, shame, anxiety, a painful sense of despair, and the destructiveness of the chosen path. The narrative illustrates the protagonist’s spiritual degradation, driven by decisions that fail to align with his actual psychological needs, ultimately depriving his life of meaning, further development, and self-improvement.
Ilya Odegov’s Lead Out Chander is characterised by deep psychological insight and a philosophically driven narrative.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.ayu.edu.kz/index.php/habarshy/article/view/5541 SCIENTIST ZHUMABAI ABIL, WHO ANALYZED THE ETHNODEFORMATION CRACK, IS 70 YEARS OLD 2025-07-04T11:20:31+00:00 P. Zhilisbayev n.zhilisbaev@iuth.edu.kz Zh.M. Yessirkepov zhandos-1978@mail.ru A.T. Baikenzheyeva Ainur.20@mail.ru
This article discusses ways to develop the physical qualities of younger schoolchildren in a comprehensive school in Turkestan using standardized and percentile scales. As a result of interviews and surveys of school teachers, 1st-year students enrolled in the educational program «Physical Culture and Sports» at the International University of Tourism and Hospitality and the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, systematic work was carried out to identify shortcomings and achievements in physical education classes conducted in secondary schools. Currently, due to the increase in the number of classes (students) in schools across the country, simultaneous physical education classes in two or three classes in the gym in the 2nd and 3rd quarters negatively affect the quality of classes. This led to a decrease in the indicators of physical fitness and physical qualities of schoolchildren, as well as students' interest in the subject of physical education. After comprehensively analyzing this issue, we prepared special test tasks aimed at improving physical fitness and improving the physical qualities of students aged 6-10 at school. At the end of each quarter, comprehensive work was carried out to create a competitive environment between classmates and stimulate their interest by individually accepting assignments from each student. The school carried out comprehensive work on the preparation of special test tasks aimed at improving physical fitness and improving the physical qualities of students aged 6 to 10 years, to arouse interest and form a competitive environment between classmates, an individual reception of students' test tasks was conducted at the end of each quarter. The goal set for us has been fully achieved and has yielded results. In the future, the positive results of our work will be implemented in the practice of schools in other regions of the country and aimed at providing methodological support to physical education teachers.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.ayu.edu.kz/index.php/habarshy/article/view/5554 The Effectiveness of “One-Page Book” Method in Teaching Folk Prose to Undergraduate Students: A Mixed-Methods Study 2025-07-04T13:23:47+00:00 А.U. Beskempirova Beskempirova_a@trk.nis.edu.kz Q.S. Ergobek kulbek1952@mail.ru К.Т. Kudaibergenova kkunimzhan@mail.ru
This study investigates the pedagogical effectiveness of the “One-Page Book” method in enhancing undergraduate students’ comprehension and creative synthesis of Kazakh folk prose. With the rise of student-centered learning in higher education, it is essential to evaluate instructional techniques that promote interpretative thinking, cultural appreciation, and concise written expression. The “One-Page Book” method requires students to read complex folk prose texts and summarize their understanding in a one-page creative output that includes symbolic visuals, keywords, and central meanings. The research employs a mixed-methods design involving both quantitative and qualitative data collection. A total of 58 students enrolled in a Kazakh Literature course participated in the intervention during the autumn semester of 2024. The quantitative phase involved pre- and post-tests assessing comprehension, symbolic interpretation, and retention. The qualitative phase included thematic analysis of students’ one-page books and their written reflections. SPSS Version 27 was used to analyze the test results. A paired-sample t-test revealed a statistically significant improvement in students’ scores: the mean score increased from 68.2 (SD = 7.4) to 81.9 (SD = 6.1), t (57) = 9.02, p < .001. Qualitative analysis highlighted increased student engagement, deeper cultural understanding, and creativity in text interpretation. The findings suggest that the “One-Page Book” method is an effective instructional tool for teaching folk prose in higher education. It combines visual thinking, critical interpretation, and concise writing, aligning well with 22st-century learning competencies. The method is particularly beneficial in preserving cultural literacy and enhancing student agency in text-based learning. This study recommends the broader use of this technique in literature pedagogy and its adaptation across folklore-related disciplines.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.ayu.edu.kz/index.php/habarshy/article/view/5556 NATIONAL SCHOOL MODEL OF A.
